Butcher Newspaper Features List

With December fast approaching along with that comes the launch of Butcher.

We plan to have a newspaper for Butcher, I intend to use this post over the coming weeks to list features ideas and get some further input so that when we are ready to launch we can go into the Gameworld all guns blazing.

Here are some of the features, which we are currently looking at bringing into the Newspaper :

Captains Corner : An interview with a random teams Captain.

This will obviously need to written by one of the editorial team, or by a user within the gameworld.

Discussion : Daily or Weekly Feature

Manager Interview : An interview with a manager.

This will be done in the form of an email to all users at the start (After first few days to allow people to get settled in first) of the gameworld in which we will send them an email with a seris of questions which they can then choose which ones to answer and reply to.

This can then be used as part of the Newspaper. I like this feature as the managers replies will already be in place and will just be a case of copying and pasting into the newspaper.

Here are some questions we already have to be added to this section.

What is your team name and What inspired the name ?

Who do you support in real life ?

Who would be your perfect signing ?

Who has been your favourite manager ?

How would you describe your managerial style ?

What is your preferred starting formation ?

Anything else you wish to add ?

Discussion : Any further questions ?

Match of the Day :This will be a report on a match that has been played within the last 24 hours.

This will need to be written by either a general gameworld user or a member of the Newspaper editorial team.

My concern over this feature is that it must be done each day, and therfore involves alot of input from people.

Discussion : Match of the Day or Match of the Week

Quote of the day : A quote by a famous football icon

This is simple a quote from a footballing legend. This will be an easy feature to run as we already have a website with thousands of quotes on it. Which will just need picking and copying and pasting.

We will keep this post updated over the coming weeks adding new features and items for discussion.

Rumour Mill : A section with made up rumours, Transfer Rumours, Team Rumours anything of interest ie Team Bus gets repossessed by the Bank after excessive spending by the Club Manager and Director.

Again the beauty of this is that it can be prepared in advance so can be done on a quiet day.
