Clough Goes Live

Last night’s Clough gameworld launch was the busiest launch in Football Manager Live history, with over 500 people signing in within seconds of the gates opening and a further 300 all joining them within the first few hours.

Within 10 minutes two teams had already selected their teams and were playing in the inaugural Clough match. Sergie Novitski’s imaginatively named team Sergei Novitski was playing at home to Curtis Williams’ Lancashire United. The game got off to a quick start with 21 year old English midfielder Isaiah Osbourne scoring the first Clough gameworld goal after 33 minutes.

Fraser Donaldson’s Comrie FC got off to a cracking start winning their first match in the gameworld against Kris Mckinstrey’s Mendes United FC by 10 goals to nothing. Mendes United FC are starting to recover nicely however and are currently on a 7 match unbeaten streak.

Obafemi Martins was once again the most expensive signing in the gameworld on day one and will be pulling on the shirt of Andrew “Poddrick” Cameron’s The Madrid Lions in season 1. He hasn’t been as successful this time around however, scoring only twice in 5 consecutive defeats for the Lions.

Faring better is 23 year old Chinese midfielder Chen Tao, playing for Adam Payter’s Auntie’s Pension. The winger scored an incredible 5 times in one match against Sorin Ciupitu’s FC Goodwood.

The top scorer in the gameworld so far is David Barral, plying his trade for Andrew Parkes’ Dueling Dragons FC. The striker has netted an impressive 32 times in 33 matches, proving a bargain at only £50k.

It’s Darryl Woodford’s Paralimni United who are sitting on top of the gameworld after day one, winning 9 and drawing 3 of their first 12 matches. Will they be there by the time the first newspaper comes around in a couple of weeks time? Wait till then to see.

We have inlcuded in this post a little glimpse of the Clough Gameworld.
